Chord Company EpicX ARAY Analogue Interconnects
EpicX ARAY features our unique ARAY conductor technology, the latest XLPE insulation and is fitted with ChorAlloy™ plated VEE 3 RCA plugs. EpicX ARAY is built from heavy gauge silver-plated, multi-strand, oxygen-free copper conductors.
ARAY conductor geometry results in a cable that will carry a lot more detail, dynamics and better portray the individual timbres of instruments. It carries this extra information with all the coherence it needs to make for a genuinely musical and involving sound.
A long-time Chord Company favourite, hand built in UK and with genuine audiophile pedigree. Similar in design to our Shawline cable but enjoying heavier gauge, silver-plated conductors with improved internal geometry. As the name suggests, EpicX ARAY features our unique ARAY technology and is now further upgraded with the latest XLPE insulation.

Why XLPE?
The construction and specification of all Chord Company cables are constantly evolving, allowing us to adapt quickly and take advantage of the latest technology. Insulation materials in particular have made great leaps forward which is why we are moving to XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) for EpicX ARAY.
After a succesful introduction via various Chord Company speaker cables it was logical to share the benefits of XLPE insulation with our interconnects. On the surface this would appear to be a fairly simple undertaking but, like many of these things, it got complicated..
Several versions and much field testing later we are very happy to announce that XLPE will now be incorporated into all Epic analogue interconnects. The new upgraded EpicX ARAY analogue cable retains the same high-performance shielding architecture and ARAY technology as its predecessor.
