Leema Acoustics Pyxis Pre-Amplifier

Available in black or silver. Now includes an MM/MC Phono Stage

The Pyxis pre-amplifier is the heart of Leema's Reference Series, designed to offer absolute transparency with superior resolution and musicality.  The Pyxis is without doubt a state-of-the-art performer.  A vast array of features ensures that the Pyxis offers complete satisfaction.  The comprehensive and fully customisable range of inputs include both single-ended and balanced analogue inputs, digital inputs for use with digital sources such as computer hard drives, and an optional built-in phono-stage.  Digital outputs are also included for archiving to computer.

In addition to LIPS®, the Pyxis features LIPS2® allowing it to feed Leema power amplifiers with a full level audio signal so that the corresponding volume is set at the input stage of the power amplifiers.  This ensures maximum signal to noise ratio and resolution of the audio signal even when listening at very low levels.

Superb Service and wonderful sound.
13 November 2021  |

To complete an upgrade to Constellation series I purchased a used Pyxis from Martin at AS in late 2020. The Pyxis went into use early in 2021 and an occasional but really annoying intermittent fault revealed itself, despite lockdown travel bans went back to the Leema factory in Wales twice, but fault was not traced as it was ok on the "meters".
Listening to the customer Martin took the used Pyxis back and sorted a great deal for me on a new Pyxis, which ended up taking some months to arrive from Leema due to component supply issues.

The new Pyxis is simply wonderful, I am again spending many more hours listening, its like being at a hifi show or dealers listening room every day, I now have a wonderful reference level system that sounds simply stunning with the Pyxis at its heart. Thanks to Martin for superb customer service, and to Andy at Leema.

Leema Pyxis, Altair4, Neat MF9, fed from Leema Sirius or Antilla.
