The Edwards Audio MC6 phono preamp is an integrated phono stage i.e. the power supply and phono stage are all housed in one case. The MC6 pushes at the boundary of what is possible from a one box solution at any price. It has dedicated sections for MC and MM pickup cartridges, switchable on the rear of the device. It has the ability to adjust the loading and gain settings via an array of internal DIP switches, THESE SHOULD ONLY BE MOVED FROM THE DEFAULT IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT IN WHAT YOU ARE DOING. In terms of performance, it is absolutely not what you would expect for the price, it paints a big open and detailed sound stage with very ‘black’ silences with amazing dynamics, a performance that would embarrass many, much more expensive competitors offerings.
