Dynavector 10x5 MkII High Output Moving Coil Cartridge *Exchange Price*

*** Exchange Scheme ***
How it works - send us your DV10X5 and this will be exchanged for a new DV10X5 MkII.

First released in 1978 and recipient of the prestigious (at the time) Design and Engineering Award at the Chicago CES in both 1978 and 1981. The new Dynavector 10X5 MKII MC cartridge presents a new benchmark in High Output MC cartridge performance not requiring a step-up device or MC phono preamplifier.

IMPROVEMENTS

Along with several exclusive Dynavector technologies that include Magnetic Flux Damping, Softened Magnetism (Patent) and powerful neodymium magnets that provide the smooth treble response Dynavector are renowned for.

The Dynavector 10X5 MKII also features an improved stylus assembly with the nude diamond “Shibata III” line contact stylus and improved hardened cantilever material. These improvements ensure secure tracking ability over even the most torturous of record grooves whilst achieving extended high-frequency response and enhanced musical resolution.

The legendary Dynavector coil winding technology using the finest of wire has enabled the Dynavector 10X5 MKII to minutely increase the coil windings and achieve a reduction in impedance to 150 ohms whilst retaining a healthy 2.8mV output.

Mounting the cartridge to the tonearm is achieved by a rigid red aluminium head block that provides a stable platform for the cartridge along with easy and secure fixing to the tonearm.

10x5 Mk II - Excellent upgrade.
Friday, 1 April 2022  |

I used a 10x4 many years ago and loved it, after a polite Ortofon it seems so lively. More recently I’ve been using a Denon DL103 and a Goldring 1042 . Maybe the best way to describe this cartridge is to compare it with the Goldring, something that many users will be familiar with (although the 10x5 is twice the price). Although probably not completely run in yet the 10x5 is quite different to the 1042, better bass but, at the moment, less treble – almost as though the frequency range has been tilted very slightly.. But the main thing is that the 10x5 sounds more ‘together’ frequency wise, the 1042 bass, mid and treble all seeming to be doing their own thing somehow. difficult to explain I know.. But, like the 10x4 from before it makes you want to play yet one more LP rather than going away to do something else!

Wonderful 10x5
Saturday, 6 February 2021  |

I’ve used a 10x5 for many years having bought my first one when it was just a 10x. I updated three years ago to a 10x5 and have just recently upgraded to the Mk2 version. This is a wonderful cartridge for the price and suits my mainly classical and jazz musical taste but it plays everything well even my old Beatles and Stones Mono albums. The upgraded Mk2 with the Shibata stylus gives a more defined bass line, wonderful mid range and light clear highs. Analogue Seduction did a great exchange deal with no problems encountered. Well recommended for both product and service.

The replacement cartridge arrived within a couple of days of sending my old cartridge back, the new mk2 is noticeable better than the mk2, easy to mount on the arm, 2 lengths of bolts supplied and a hex. Key supplies.

First moving coil
Friday, 22 November 2019  |

I bought this cartridge to replace one that unfortunately got damaged. This is an upgrade from an Ortofon 2M blue which is a decent cartridge but you can notice the improvement with the Dynavector. It has great detail with good bass and is not overly bright like some cartridges. I would certainly recommend for a first moving coil.
