The latest, new Rega Planar 6 turntable replaces the old RP6.
It has been along time in the making but the new Rega Planar 6 turntable from Rega has finally been shown. Featuring trickle down tech from the RP10 and RP8 turntables, the all new rega Planar 6 benefits from a single piece, machined aluminum sub-platter, a new 24v motor hand tuned and matched to its own NEO power supply and custom drive pulley fitted with our upgrade drive belt as standard.
The new Rega Planar 6 has one goal, to reproduce your vinyl as accurately as possible. We have engineered every aspect of this turntable to extract as much detail from the vinyl surface as possible. Advanced materials and engineering solutions have been used throughout the design to ensure the greatest level of performance. The Neo PSU offers electronic speed change, advanced anti-vibration control and user adjustable electronic fine speed adjustment only found on the RP10 until now.
The Planar 6 will be available with the recommended *Ania MC factory fitted as an attractive package.
The Planar 6 is built around the huge success of the RP8 and RP10 turntables. It is the first new Rega turntable to be constructed with an ultra lightweight Tan-Cast 8 polyurethane foam core plinth (a material developed for the aerospace industry) . This material is sandwiched between a new HPL (high pressure laminate). HPL is exceptionally thin whilst extremely rigid and is presented in a stunning Polaris matt grey finished with high gloss polymer black edge trim.
The Planar 6 now benefits from a single piece, machined aluminum sub-platter, a new 24v motor hand tuned and matched to its own NEO power supply and custom drive pulley fitted with our upgrade drive belt as standard.
The Neo PSU uses the RP10 DSP (digital signal processing) generator built upon a high stability crystal. The DSP generator will divide the accurate signal from the crystal to the exact frequency required to turn the platter at the selected speed. The DSP generator will also produce a near perfect sinusoidal waveform to drive the motor. This, along with an efficient drive amplifier, generates a 24V AC balanced signal of less than 0.15% distortion, which is completely un-affected by any changes in the mains/line voltage and conditions. This then drives the turntables anti-vibration circuit, which is situated beneath the turntable.

Whilst the level of customer service from all at Analogue Seduction was excellent, the overall buying experience was let down by Rega's quality control which in my experience has been frequently less than perfect in my experience... This Rega Planar 6 for example... When I got it home and unpacked it, it was apparent that the counterweight was missing the internally fitted rubber O ring that enables a snug fit on the tone arm... I also noticed that the dust cover was distorted being 1-2mm over hanging the plinth on one side and the same amount short on the other. Terry was apologetic and quickly replaced the counterweight from their demo deck, and although a replacement dust cover was offered, I really couldn't be bothered. The turntable sounds great and the service from AS was also of a high standard, its just a shame that Rega are letting the side down somewhat by their lack of quality control in this instance.

Upgraded from Project Debut Esprit with Ortofon 2M Red, that did a great service for 7 years. The P6, just installed with Ortofon 2M Bronze, brought a lot of detail and depth, paired with Rotel and B&W speakers. The cartridge still needs 20+ hour to break-in, but I can tell you itīs already a big delight.

Excellent sound and build quality. Also the 5 star service from Martin
Recommended to me as being the best Performance pound for pound with the exact cartridge. Itís my first proper turntable so I donít have any comparison but I am certainly happy with what Iím hearing. The music comes out to meet you in the most pleasing way and fills the room. Rega has the reputation of making engaging and toe tapping products that leave you lost in the music. Well what else could I possibly want? I recommend the P6 whole-heartedly. If I ever upgrade it will be a Rega.

Stylus dropped. I got the right turntable to replace my Sota jewel turntable. Highly recommended for vinyl lover from a reputable dealer.
