For the first time after the arrival of Compact Disc and the assumed demise of vinyl records, an analogue product re-emerged in the “mass market” – something all music lovers could afford. Now we are happy to announce our new Debut with S-Shape tonearm and high quality Sumiko Rainier MM cartridge.

Project debut s phono

I was very happy with the speed of delivery, sound and working mechanics of the Project record player but there is one thing that I think has let down the quality of the item! The veneers that go around the outside of the plinth look like they have been fitted poorly as the reflection is slightly wavy and undulated especially on the edges. I am a Carpenter so I’m aware that the surface you apply veneers too has to be sanded purely flat and free from any dents or bumps to achieve perfection. I was initially going to return it but thought I should first go into Town and compare the quality of the veneers with other Project players, I found them all to have the same problem so I’m happy to keep it just hope I don’t have issues with it coming away in years to come and wish I’d returned it and got a different make. You should inform Project of this slight imperfection in their veneering, maybe then they could correct it and have a 5 star record player in my opinion. 🤟
