"Whatever you do, don't audition the Ultra Black. As i said before, once you do, there's no going back."

Hi-Fi Plus 2010

"What the Ultra Blacks will do for your record collection is to both extract the fine detail from within and reveal its personality. The Ultra Blacks will lay bare your music, getting under the skin of each recording."

Hi-Fi World 2010

""Dynamic but delicate" was my description, with vert expressive "Tellurium mid", with a great ability to enable music to "move"; overall very clean presentation and articulate across the band. Noted good low frequency shape, and power."

Comment from a highly regarded speaker manufacturer

Tellurium Q is primarily an audio research and development (R&D) company that also manufactures products. R&D is at the centre of every decision they take and every product they make.

That is why they design and develop products starting with a completely blank canvas and ask “what is really happening with this process, in these materials” and build on solid fundamentals. That is why you may find that what they produce might look a little different from what you might expect but that is just because they are focused on how to get a better clearer sound. How something looks is of secondary importance because they are working for the serious audiophile and music lover who, like us, wants to hear more in their music. That may be the reason that although their little company has only just appeared on the HiFi scene, they have immediately been awarded 5 Globes for an entire speaker cable range, awarded cables of the year for the ENTIRE cable range by HiFi Plus magazine and again product of the year by HIFi World in their Jan 2011 edition. All in the first 12 months!

Tellurium Ultra Black is the cable they wanted to make from day one. TQ told their UK distributor what to expect as they handed them a prototype that looked more like a fireman's hose and less like a sonic phenomena. They glanced at the heavy, stiff and it has to be said ugly brown experiment. "Yes, well we will give it a go and take it to a few dealers to see what they think". Later that day Tellurium got a phone call from their disbelieving UK distributors at Kog Audio, "what the hell is in it? We've never heard anything like this!".

They took it on trust that the production version would be incredibly think and flexible by comparison and looked a whole lot better. So Kog Audio put in an advance order that day without needing to see or hear the production model because, in their words, "if it is even quarter as good as the prototype it will blow people away".

To sum up the above in one simple sentence. We think the production version sounds better than the prototype.

Totally Mind Blowing these speaker cables are

i was using the Cardas Quadlink 5C for about a year when i decided its time to an upgrade.

had about 10 hours into these Tellurium Q Ultra Black and its characters began to shine through....

1. extremely smooth mid range :
vocal harmony is honey sweet and instruments are just "more" music

2. fuller body sound :
the Cardas is like enjoying a cup of good quality beer, sparkling and refreshing
the Tellurium is like having the beer removed and replace instead by a glass of vintage rare red wine... the flavour just exploding in the aural senses

3. the Tellurium takes away a "high frequency" glare :
i did not even notice the Cardas had this issue until they were swapped over

4. totally non fatigue sound
i thought the Cardas was already doing this very well.. but the Tellurium took this up a notch, i played music non stop for 8-9 hours a day.

5. brings me down plesant memory lane :
what i am hearing is a very analogue sound (even from CDs) that brings me back to the 70/80s type of heart warming sound

for those looking for a speaker cable upgrade, you really need to check out these Tellurium Q Ultra Black... they will not disappoint.. and that for sure.

Tellurium Q Ultra Black speaker cable

These 1.5m cables replace my previous 3m £250 cables. The most noticeable improvement is in bass guitar; the tone and resolution of the bass is much better. The overall sound is slightly cleaner and I have occasionally heard subtle percussion I hadn't previously noticed. Occasional slight harshnes or distortion of which I was previously barely aware, has been eliminated by the new cables. You have to burn the cables in for several hours; the sound definitely improved over this period. While the cost seems high for speaker cables, I avoided a 4 figure sum by choosing 1.5m length and I feel the purchase has been worthwhile. This is just as viable a route to upgrading the sound of your hi fi as buying a better CD/ record deck or amp.
