NOW A SOLUTION FOR ENTRY LEVEL CABLES. Until now, customers may have avoided using Airloc™ plugs on entry level cables due to proportion of cost attributed to the plugs outweighing the price of the cable. Although logical, it is disappointing as it neglects the most vulnerable area of the speaker cable chain - that of the physical interface between cable and amplifier or speaker terminals. With a more affordable retail price per plug, it now means that all cables can benefit from the use of QED Airloc™ technology.

The QED Micro cable is 17 AWG, so the maximum length is 32 feet for an 8 ohm load and 16 feet for a 4 ohm load, which should be plenty long for a home application. The Micro also doesn't have shielding, which is simply not needed for speaker cable since speaker impedance is too low to transfer any electrical interference into the audible spectrum. And shielding adds capacitance to the cable, which makes it sound bright.

The mini Airlock bananas are really nice and they surprised me- they tightly fit into my Quad Elite amp and my Focal Aria speakers. The engineers at Analogue Seduction did a beautiful job with the heatshrink. However, I did notice that some of the gold plating did rub off on the tip after the first use. Hopefully this doesn't spread.

I love how the cable is white and low profile so it's easy to hide. It's fully hidden by my speaker stand's cable management.
