In analogue systems we are primarily concerned with the ingression and amplification of noise and therefore terminating unused inputs is the way to go. However digital audio outputs can also be a source of systems wide interference and therefore terminating these devices with their characteristic impedance eliminates stray emissions and thereby keeps the RF system load low.
 
A simple but effective way to minimise the chance of this occurrence is by the use of an Atlas Digital Output Terminator (DOT) on all unused digital OUTPUTS.
 
Plug the DOT into any unused digital audio (SPDIF) OUTPUT, with this in place further reduction of wide band spectral interference occurs.
