Pro-Ject Signature 10 Turntable

Audiophile beauty with “state of the art” quality for vinyl lovers!

The Signature 10 is a true high-end turntable designed by Pro-Ject Audio Systems. The cousin of Pro-Jects flagship Signature turntable, the Signature 10 uses a mass loaded magnetic floating subchassis, perfect for reducing resonance and noise.

Magnetic feet decoupled from the chassis surface, Sorbothane 'pillows' and a floating-magnetic platter essentially guarantee a silent-running turntable. The Signature 10 spins via a heavy belt drive designed to keep exceptional timing and quality.

An inbuilt speed control allows for simple speed changes between 33 1/3 RPM and 45RPM at a push of a button. The single-pivot 10” precision tonearm is a unique and genuine design by Pro-Ject. With its wide range of adjustment possibilities and the choice of adequate counterweights, nearly all cartridges can be mounted.

Key Features:

  • Mass loaded belt drive subchassis design
  • Magnetically decoupled main platter
  • Resonance optimised alloy with built-in TPE damping
  • Inverted main bearing with ceramic ball
  • Chassis with magnetic decoupling
  • Electronic speed control

Shame on Pro-Ject
05 November 2022  |

Tread Carefully. Setting up is a pain. Pro-ject says the 5 pin interconnect comes installed but no it wasn't. And the connector at the arm pillar is deep within a well. So it wasn't easy. I suppose you are not to expect simplicity with a highend TT.
Then came the convoluted single pivot arm.Its pretty and all that but the tonearm lead out contacts are again, deep within the arm pillar. The Lead (twisted)from the arm base has a 4 pin plug with a locating that's probably plastic. You cannot see what you are connecting to . It was all working by feel. It was nerve wracking. Dont understand why Pro ject had to resort to this crazy design.I think i have connected it properly. I hope. Then , when it came to setting the tonearm I hit a snag. There was no stylus pressure gauge supplied. You'll have to set the VTF and only then you balance the arm. Being used to Sl1200s Mk2, Mk3 and the G , I felt that this was counter intuitive. Oh well, Pro ject wanted to be different. Not wanting to question the Manual I decide to stop there. I need to get a stylus pressure gauge. Its work in progress....more shall follow.

Outstanding

Turntable is well built and and easy to set up. I've upgraded thru the years and this is the best I've owned to date. Magnetic feet and decoupled subchassis really defeats the vibrations. With the Cadenza Black cartridge with this TT is....as the title states: outstanding. Thanks Martin (sales) for all your help.
