Edwards Audio Apprentice EQ Moving Magnet Phono Stage

  • Now with internal PSU

Edwards Audio's Apprentice EQ phono stage is derived from the popular Edwards Audio MM2 and uses a similar circuit topology with passive treble and active bass equalization. Unusual at this price area, it features a second stage amplifier to buffer the equalization network and ensure a low output impedance. The double U case construction removes the need for an expensive front panel, keeping the cost low without compromising performance. With its near silent noise floor and 40dB gain, the Apprentice MM is an ideal budget phono stage for those new to the vinyl game, or anyone looking for an incredible analog value.

Specifications:

  • Max Input MM: 75mV
  • Gain: 40dB MM
  • THD: <0.01% 1kHz
  • SNR (MM) 5mV: -83dB
  • RIAA accuracy: within 0.5dB
  • Stereo separation: better than 66dB - 20-20kHz
  • Input Loading MM: 47K with 150pF
  • Dynamic Range: 110dB
  • Output impedance: <10 Ohms
  • Max output level: 7.5V RMS
  • Dimensions (W x H x D): 4.5"x1.9"x3.5"
  • Weight: 2 lbs.
  • Power consumption: 1.5W

Amazing phono stage!

Amazing phono stage! Glad that i bought it. Sound improved drastically! Much louder than internal phono stages in both my turntable and active speakers. I love heavy music and that little pre-amp suits it well. Highly recommended!

Edwards Audio did anyone building their first analog system a massive favor !! Overall leap in sound by going to icon audio level but before that pluses and minuses for mm

Absolute Bargain

Great sound for the price. Using this between 80s Systemdek turntable and a vintage tube amp with no in-built phono stage. Bringing back the love for my old vinyl. And great service from Analogue Seduction. Thanks from Down Under.
