Michell Engineering DensoDamp Chassis Damping Compound for GyroDec & Gyro SE

As part of some gentle upgrades i decided to use the Densodamp as prescribed to the Orbe and is recorded as bringing improvements to the Gyro se.
It's very similar to automotive panel seal as used on some cars and the warmer your hands the more it will wish to stay with you and not affix to the Gyro chassis. As per the instructions the task is fairly straight forward (definitely use a pencil eraser) and working around the chassis. You'll know if you've used too much or too little because you'll either have excess or not enough.
After wards a good clean of the hands and reassembly of the turn table sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Saying I was a bit sceptical about this product at first would be an understatement.
I must say I was wrong. Sound is richer, with a warmer feel to it. Backgrounds are darker and detail had emerged that wasn’t there before.
A cheap upgrade that makes a very big difference. If you have a Michell turntable you simply must have this.

After aplication of the damping compound there's more "silence" in the background. It seems that vibration influences are smoothed out witch gives a more pleasing quetness overall.
It realy works!

I used this on a Gyro with Rega RB1000 and Decca Super Gold. This transfers a lot of energy into the arm board and chassis, and DensoDamp (in conjunction with some judicious Sorbothane decoupling and damping) makes the dynamic range appear significantly wider and the sound cleaner and sharper overall

This stopped my chassis from ringing and tightened the GyroDec's sound for more detail IMO. The instructions suggest filling the flat underside up to the reinforcing ribs, instead I rolled into tubes easy to fit into the corners and warmed up so stickier.
