Kiseki Purpleheart N.S. MC Phono Cartridge

Please contact us to enquire about this cartridge

The Kiseki PurpleHeart N.S. phono cartridge is a true beauty in every sense. It is made of rare Purpleheart wood, which turns from brown to a golden purple in direct or indirect sunlight. It sports a boron cantilever the size of a human hair, and a diamond so small that it is difficult to see it, even with a magnifying glass. Though 30mm long, it weighs only 7 grams. Its edges are all right angles which make for easy setup. It is a truely amazing piece of equipment.

  • Ultimate quality

  • Precious materials

  • Natural performance

What is a N.S. Cartridge?

Kiseki uses N.O.S. for New Old Style, and N.S. for “New Style”. It means for new 2013 designed cartridges, they use the newest technology and parts, but based as much as possible on the parts as used in the limited version of N.O.S. cartridges plus a new body. They have chosen for a shorter style body as that is easier to use with the arms currently on the market. The shape of the body is based on a design as already used by us in prior models. It is in fact a mix of the Kiseki body and the body of our MillTek high output MC cartridges. The N.S. cartridges are based on the same internal design, the same kind of parts as the N.O.S. cartridges, but all parts are current production.

I don't know about other vinyl lovers, but for me, this type of prices are very hefty when it comes down to purchase such a small element. It makes it even more of a challenge when you know that you can't try or hear it before purchase..... Checking YouTube is not helping either. I have Goldrings and Dynavectors, but when I heard the Sumiko Blackbird, I was impressed by its silence and dynamics. So one day, David went thru a lot of trouble to let me audit several turntables. With the listening, several available cartridges were used, of which were Rega Apheta, Ortofon cadenza black, Koetsu black.... but non could make me forget the dynamics of the Sumiko, until the Kiseki Blue was put in the equation. Same dynamics as the Sumiko, but with more detail. When I finally decided to go for it, Martin confirmed the choice of David but just pushed it a bit further...... by suggesting the Purpleheart. This is the very first time in my life that I trusted blindly on somebody, but this is what I can say: it is a shitload of money, advised by a dealer of which the individuals have shitload of professional experience, and this is the outcome: you get shitload of musicality, details and dynamics. I was nailed down to experience how much better it can be. You just have to hear it, but it came as no surprise to me to read that Harry Weisfeld from VPI considers this one as his best ever cartridge, his "all time favourite".
