Klipsch Heritage HP-3 Over Ear Headphones - With Klipsch Headphone Amplifier - Ex Demonstration
With all accessories
Designed from the most functional and premium materials available, the Heritage HP-3 headphones feature die-cast steel, milled wood, premium leathers, and machined aluminum components. Boasting a 52mm KG-520 biodynamic driver housed in a back-vented design, the HP3 headphones deliver unsurpassed acoustic performance.
Each Heritage HP-3 headphone component has been designed from the most functional materials available: die-cast steel, milled wood, premium leathers, and machined aluminum. Solid-wood, triple-vented ear cups add natural warmth and character. Angled sheepskin ear pads provide perfect depth and distress naturally with age. A genuine hand-stitched cowhide headband adds quality, strength, and becomes more pliable over time. Hand-assembled with visible nuts and bolts, the Heritage HP-3 is built to last.
KLIPSCH DYNAMIC SOUND
Crafted with one engineering goal in mind: achieving high efficiency, low distortion, fullrange Klipsch loudspeaker sound, the Heritage HP-3 deliberately tugs on your emotions; extracting every detail from studio recordings and revealing both presence and detail without sacrificing bass. Featuring a recessed 52mm biodynamic driver, the Heritage HP-3 expands the soundstage to mimic the imaging characteristics of speakers instead of conventional headphones.
Proper acoustic venting drives the powerful and smooth delivery of the Heritage HP-3. Back-vented to the outside world as well as through the front baffle, the drivers can breathe and allow ambient noise to fuse seamlessly with the rhythm of your music, creating a natural presentation. Precisely vented between the front of the driver and directly behind the ear pad through a vortex guide, the Heritage HP-3 reduces pressure in your ears, and creates a consistent performance for any head or ear shape.
52MM FREE-EDGE BIODYNAMIC DRIVERS
Driven by a pair of 52mm biodynamic drivers with more than one tesla of magnetic flux density, the Heritage HP-3 decreases distortion and provides superb dynamic range. Using a proprietary mixture of biocellulose and inorganic fiber, the biodynamic drivers achieve incredible levels of balance and control throughout the full frequency spectrum. Additionally, the urethane rubber surrounds create a driver that stays solid and rigid, moving like a piston instead of rocking and tilting like typical headphone drivers. This free-edge design further reduces tonal coloration and improves clarity.
EASY TO DRIVE
Compared to other audiophile-grade headphones, the Heritage HP-3 is vastly different because of its high efficiency, one of Paul W. Klipsch’s original founding principles in loudspeaker design. During the headphone’s acoustical development, it was vital that it could be driven by virtually any source playing any content. With a flat, low impedance, the Heritage HP-3 will pair well with both high-end amplifiers as well as standard smartphones.
While most headphones are built for sleeping on a plane, the Heritage HP-3 comes pre-packaged with a custom solid-steel rod headphone stand, short (1.37m) and long (2.5m) detachable braided nylon cables, and a custom-fit 1/4” adapter. With a design this beautiful, these headphones are meant to be displayed and listened to, not stored in a bag inside a drawer.

Klipsch Heritage Headphone Amplifier
Headphone amplifier is sun bleached from use, where the headphones stand was sat on top of the unit on a window sill. Does not affect usage or performance.
Audiophile digital to analog converter
Versatile inputs and outputs
Made from luxurious, high quality materials
The Heritage Headphone Amplifier deffinately stands out from the crowd. It looks old-school without feeling passé. It exudes quality and boasts a set of handsome weighted and anodized aluminum switches, knobs and controls that look and feel almost as good as it makes your music sound. This piece of audio equipment is purpose built to be something you can proudly display both during and after use.
Encased in formed aluminum with genuine walnut veneer, the Heritage Headphone Amplifier exudes quality before ever being plugged in. All switches, knobs, and controls are weighted and anodized aluminum for great feel and tactile response. All analog switches operate through relays for the cleanest signal while maintaining vintage feel.
AUDIOPHILE DIGITAL TO ANALOG CONVERTER
Driven at the core by a high-resolution ES90128K2M ESS Sabre32 Reference digital-toanalog (DAC) converter capable of 192kHz/24-bit sample rates, the Heritage Headphone Amplifier is the ideal 2-channel audiophile-grade DAC. Featuring ESS 32-bit HyperStream® DAC architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, the amplifier delivers a clear sound and minimal distortion. Built for the most discerning ears, the Heritage Headphone Amplifier doubles as an ideal processor of any digital source, whether the output is a pair of headphones or RCA line-out.
ASYNCHRONOUS USB INTERFACE
The Heritage Headphone Amplifier uses the XMOS USB audio receiver platform, widely regarded as one of the best solutions for transferring audio from USB sources. This allows the amplifier to lock the audio stream to its internal clock, keeping the audio stream as clean as possible. ASIO support is included for audio software that supports it. iOS (with Lighting™ to USB Camera Adapter, sold separately) and Android (5.0 Lollipop and newer) devices can also connect directly to the USB interface for lossless playback of content, bypassing your device’s digital-to-analog converter.
DUAL AMPLIFIERS FOR BALANCED OUTPUT
Complete with dual Class-AB TI TPA6120A2 amplifiers, the signal path minimizes crosstalk while increasing total system output. Built to have the best signal to noise ratio possible, the chosen amplifiers had to be as quiet as the reference DAC. Plug in any headphone with an XLR-4 balanced cable (not included) and you have a true audiophile solution. Flip the gain switch to “Hi-Z” for a +10 dB boost in output to drive even the most demanding headphones.
VERSATILE INPUTS AND OUTPUTS
The Heritage Headphone Amplifier is intended to work as a digital analog processor for USB audio, optical, and coaxial inputs. Beyond it’s primary use as a balanced headphone amplifier, it also works as a DAC for powered speakers, making it the ideal desktop companion. Toggle the output switch to “Line” and the amplifier will mute the headphone output and enable the line-out on the back of the amplifier. Flip the switch on the back of the unit from “Fixed” to “Variable” and you now have gain control through the volume knob on the front.
The Heritage Headphone Amplifier is designed to maintain the lowest distortion in its class. To realize the full performance of the Sabre DAC, the signal path uses relays and analog gain control. We coupled those elements with a highly customized circuit board layout and reference components. This amplifier will enhance the quality of any headphone or audio system plugged into it.
SAMPLE RATE NOTIFICATION
To ensure that all the settings on your input source are correct, the Heritage Headphone Amplifier displays the sample rate being processed of digital sources. The front-panel LEDs will illuminate in white for PCM sources and blue for DSD files.
