Audiophile Base platforms provide the best working conditions for your system and consequently the basis for enjoyable music

The Platform uses a unique patented suspension system to dissipate external and internal energies acting on hi-fi and home-cinema components, with a resulting benefit to sound and visual reproduction.

The audible effects of unwanted vibrations acting upon electrical components within audio equipmentare now fully recognised. An effective support for audio equipment should be regarded as an essential component before consideration of accessories.
These vibrations are generated by energy introduced into the listening room by loudspeakers and transferred to the room structure and contents. Additionally, transformers and motors also generate vibrational energy, this time directly within the audio components.

There are two approaches for dealing with these problems adopted by support systems in common Firstly the high mass, rigid support coupled to the floor by spikes or cones and, secondly, the light-weight support often offering some level of compliance.

In practice, the first approach appears to work best with some equipment whilst the second benefits other components.

The 'BASE Platform' provides a novel suspension system, as confirmed by the Patents for the design, offering an alternative universally successful support. The mechanics can be compared with the more familiar suspension system comprising a spring and damper.

Compliant beams (the springs) are each supported by two feet and allowed to cantilever at each end. The beam is continuously bonded to a selected elastomeric strip (the damper) which, in turn, is fully bonded to the support platform allowing movement in the beam and deflection under the loading of supported equipment.

This assembly effectively damps low order vibration over a wide frequency range. When a BASE Platform is inserted between audio equipment and a support table the structure borne vibration energy is controlled. This is particularly evident from reproduced bass extension, 'speed' and
clarity.

The overall sonic improvement offers wonderfully natural tonal characteristics, superb imaging and a dynamic, detailed presentation of transients even into the lowest bass frequencies.

Audiophile Base 05

Purchased this mainly for the looks as it matched my hifi unit , which had marks on the top.I did not expect any sound improvements to be honest but was pleasantly surprised the bass tightened up a little more and I got more detail on some records, the sound improvement would not be worth £500 alone but at £200 it was well worth it for the sound improvements alone, great item if only they did a smaller version id get one for my amp, Analogue seduction as always were fantastic i'm a previous customer and will keep coming back.

Great; and great value now
07 January 2023  |

I have for a long time thought that the Audiophile Base was a good idea. But they were a bit too expensive for me to justify trying them. I have tried many isolation methods, including Nordost Pulsar Points (in base, aluminium form), Nordost Sort Kones (aluminium), Something Solid racks and balsa shelves, an MCRU/Black Ravioli base for power supplies (of which I now have 5, bases, that is), and several wall-mounted racks. The Audiophile Base 05 fitted perfectly on a cheap wall turntable rack. On it, I put my PS Audio PerfectWave DAC, which was a bit muddy-sounding before, and when the sound was tightened up with a Nordost mains lead with a Furutech FI-50 IEC plug, it was good but still not right. The Audiophile Base was a bit of a revelation. I have now put it into a different place (improving the sound of my headphone system) and have ordered the StrataBase. The improvements are to the tightness of the sound, including the bass, without any loss of naturalness or midrange. It is a shame that Audiophile Bases are no longer made. At their current selling prices with Analogue Seduction, they are certainly very good value.
