Sumiko Blue Point Special EVO III MC Cartridge

The BPS EVO III sets a high bar for performance at this highly competitive price point. Its tonal balance is remarkably smooth, exhibiting a fundamental richness and overall warmth without sacrificing musical detail and resolution. The versatility of the high-output moving coil design allows this cartridge to be driven by nearly any MM phono stage, saving you extra dollars to spread around to the rest of your system.

All the great attributes of the original BPS EVO III are also available in a low-output version that offers superior dynamics and faster response time. The low-mass coils take some of the pressure off the cantilever suspension system to allow the assembly to squeeze out every last drop of performance from this esteemed cartridge.

I upgraded from a Sumiko Blue Point No.2, and the EVO III is in a class of it's own. Very happy with the purchase.

Great for VPI

I have had Ortofon 2M Black on VPI Scout II with Memorial 9 tonearm. Analyitical sound without emotions. AT 33 was boring on the other side with lack of dynamics.
Sumiko Bluepoit III Evo is completely different story. It reproduces music big way. Soundstage is awesome and the spectrum from bass to highs is alligned. Bargain for the price.
One thing - buying cartridge requires matching with tonearms, so please take care.

Rgds, Felix

First Sumiko MC

The cartridge came well wrapped and seated in a wooden Box, with all necessary fitting Equipment. It was fairly easy to fit and adjust, although it lacked a proper installation illustration of some sort. Once fitted it sounded flat and thin at first, but after about 8-10 hours of record playing it started to open up and especially the bass got deeper and firmer. Looking forward to many hours of listening pleasure as the sound is gradually getting better and better. I'm so far very satisfied.
