Sumiko Blackbird Moving Coil Cartridge

The SUMIKO Blackbird has long been regarded as providing the most performance per dollar you can find in the industry. With the level of performance and clarity of many cartridges twice its price, the Blackbird was designed for exceedingly low noise levels, exceptionally wide dynamic range, and the highest possible fidelity in its price class. The Blackbird has already become a veritable analog classic and is sure to delight many more discerning ears for years to come.

By offering a low-output version of the Blackbird at 0.7 mV, we have taken advantage of a low-mass cantilever assembly to provide even faster response time and superior dynamics. With the right preamplification, the low-output Blackbird takes all of the performance features of the standard version and pushes them to the next level with the improved tracking that lightweight coils afford.

Great sounded Cartridge
Tuesday, 4 October 2016  |

After a litle tricky instalation of cartridge. My music room was filed with great music. I played the New Marillion album F.E.A.R. great sound and then I took an older one Elton John with his second album from 1970 and thet also sounds fantastic.
The thing that strikes me most are the silence between songs, it's so silent. The bass is perfekt now, never heard a better sounded bass sound, listen to Jethro Tull's Thick as a brick and the cartridge sounds allready fantastic, and when you know it take som time before the Cartridge is played in, then I know it will be even better.

My Equpment are Vincent SV-237 Amplifier, a Vincent Phono Amplifier PHO-700, Thorens TD206 Turtable and as speakers I have Dali ikon 6 Mk2. and the new Sumiko Blackbird MC Cartridge suite my equipment well.
And one more thing, if your from Sweden as I am, then the prize of the Sumiko Cartridge are almoust 50% lower, so this was a great opportunity to upgrade my home Stereo.

Got this to replace stock cart on my Project 5.1.
I was on the verge of getting new TT.
Got this and what a difference!
Background noise has vanished and the detail I'm hearing that I couldn't before is amazing!
This has to be the best cartridge for the money!
