Cartridge Man Music Maker MKIII
The CartridgeMan Music Maker Mk III is the third and latest award winning version ofthis stunningly musical cartridge. As a Moving Iron (MI) design, it hasall the musical benefits of a moving coil (MC) cartridge with an outputlevel similar to that a moving magnet (MM) design, allowing you to use it with any standard phono stage.
As with any cartridge, correct trackingforce is important. Too heavy and it becomes laboured in its midband andboomey in the bass, too light and it sharpens the music. When set atits 1.58g sweet spot, you will understand why Cartridge Man Len Gregorycalls this 'The Music Maker'. The Music Maker MkIII offers a chance toexperience music in a truly sublime way, with stronger presence andmusicality than many moving coil designs. With many users turning tomoving iron cartridges and selecting the Music Maker MkIII as theirdefinitive purchase, we can only applaud their wisdom.
'Ithas a sheer listenablity that few competitors combine in the same smallbody, and that sounds like a bargain at any price...Good price, highoutput and a winning musicality make this moving iron cartridge the oneto beat!' (Hi-fi World magazine)
'Infact, on all grounds the Mk III is a better cartridge than the Mk II.In particular, we gain greater clarity, lower noise floor level, fasterdynamics and a better sense of space. It is really an excellentcartridge' (TNT Audio online)
'For anyone using avalve pre-amp like a Conrad-Johnson or early ARC, this cartridge ismanna from heaven. Being used to hearing vastly expensive MCs in asystem tailored to their balance, the Music Maker never left me feelingshort-changed. ... never was a product so aptly named; never was analternative so welcome' (Hi-fi+ magazine)

I bought this cartridge about a year ago. I'm not great at "hi-fi speak", so I'll just say this is one beautiful, natural sounding cartridge. It is not etched, not coloured, never sounds forced. It just lets the music flood out and fill the room. Len has done a fantastic job. Female vocals, metal stringed acoustic guitars, cymbals... which can sound un-natural... just sound perfect. I have mine partnered with a Croft valve amp, on an Audiomods arm/Thorens deck. Magic.

The music sounds more organic and real then the moving coil cartridges I have used for the past 35 years. It retains the detail that I have become accustom to in the high end and mid-range but the bottom end extension is where it surpasses the moving coils. I ordered it from the US and received it in a week. Great service!!!

One of the best carts I have owned, even some of the exotic MC from Linn etc... performs way above its price point, very detailed, great dynamics, with deep and wide soundstage, it also tracks really well oh and did I mention it gives a smooth but accurate non coloured presentation without being too sweet. To sum up it`s the best MM I have ever heard and far better than many MC carts costing far more, think you can tell I really love this cartridge.Check one out, you won`t be disappointed.
