The velvet block of the Exstatic is a very effective tool for lifting up a lot of the surface dust and debris found in all vinyl, new or vintage. It allows a certain amount of pressure to be applied, which the simple soft carbon fibre brushes do not. I finally replaced mine after around seven years use, with one of the same. Ideal for use before wet-cleaning in your ultrasonic RCM, which finishes flushing soluble contaminants, fingerprints, and residual debris.
Proper cleaning = near silent vinyl

Great for static, bristles harsher than my old one. 14 October 2022 | S
I have been using a Goldring Exstatic brush for the best part of 40 years, lovely and gentle but mines an early one without the felt pad and seems to create static. This new one removes static brilliantly but the brush fibres seem coarser and harsher.

This is quite large to hold (twice the thickness almost of the Project version). However, I find it more effective as the two sets of bristles sit apart.
Use the front bristles to clean initially, then tilt the brush onto the rear bristles to remove any debris from the record.
Not sure if it's the correct way to use it, but works OK for me.

Carbon fibre/velvet record brush works well, but the fibres did not go as far as the velvet. Production failure? I´m satisfied with the functionality of the item and I have used a similar earlier and this is the best I have tried so far! And I have tried a lot for a couple of decades.

My old brush was past its best so I thought i would treat my records to a new one. I'm really glad I did as this is fantastic at removing surface dust. It does exactly what it says on the tin, Highly recommended.

These comments do relate to use with a "pristine" record collection. I do not know how successful it would be under other circumstances. Have been using this brush during the past year and have just bought a second one as a present. It works very well at relieving static and clearing dust with only very minor applied pressure, which is good news from t/t belt strain and bearing considerations. Have experienced far less surface noise intrusion using this device alone, compared with previous brushes and anti static measures.
I am very pleased with the quality of the brush and have experienced no shedding of bristles.
