AVID Reference Three Loudspeakers

Contrary to popular belief, bigger is not always better! Room characteristics play a major importance in choosing the correct loudspeaker.
Matched to the appropriate room, Reference Three is capable of performing to the same high levels as AVID's other Reference loudspeakers, just on a more intimate basis.
The integrated stand is designed to reduce unwanted room interaction and provide a large resistance mass, especially important with certain floor types.
With the Bass drivers elevated from the floor there is also less low-frequency distortion, more noticeable within a typically smaller listening environment.
Common to AVID's other models, Reference Three employs the same cabinet construction and vibration damping techniques, sandwiching the drivers between metal plates, damping and guiding unwanted resonances to AVID's vibration damping element and presenting a stunning fixture-free appearance.
Manufactured from up to 20mm aerospace grade aluminium plate at AVID's Huntingdon factory, each hand crafted cabinet houses two 6" Mid/Bass units and a natural sounding 28mm soft dome tweeter, each driver retaining the Titanium voice coil former for lightness and rigidity, identical to Reference One and Two models.
The Reference Three cabinet is also reflex loaded, each drive unit optimized for low frequency performance. Twin ports exit from below the cabinet minimising room positioning issues and each speaker stand is fitted with our attractive adjustable solid stainless steel spikes for effective grounding.
