The Musical Fidelity V-LINK 2 converts a USB signal to S/PDIF with asynchronous USB, allowing you to use your USB connected PC or laptop with any DAC that doesn't include a USB input. With the increasing popularity of a laptop, PC, NAS drive or other computer storage device as a music source, the V-LINK 2 allows you to use any of these devices as a high end music source into any standard S/PDIF digital input. The massive benefit of the V-LINK 2 is asynchronous mode USB allowing you to transfer a guaranteed signal upto 24Bit / 96KHz audio from USB to an S/PDIF digital signal that can be outputted by either Coaxial (RCA) or Toslink (optical) outputs. Often times when sending audio from USB, the computer sending the data will set clock rate and compression level. With asynchronous USB, the data transfer is all controlled by the V-LINK, thus ensuring the high bitrate audio is recieved with low jitter and no data compression.
