Epos M5i Standmount Loudspeakers

 

The M5i two-way bass reflex speaker may be the baby of the Mi series, but its performance belies its size. It is equally at home in a two-channel or home theatre application. As you would expect, it is fully shielded magnetically.


The M5i includes our revised Epos 25mm (1 in.) low distortion metal dome tweeter, designed to have smooth, clear extended treble. This tweeter features a strong die-cast aluminium alloy face plate, moulded surround, ferrite magnet and Ferrofluid cooling.

The Epos 140mm (5.5in.) mid-range woofer reproduces dynamic, natural bass and mid-range frequencies. This robust drive unit has a die-cast aluminium alloy chassis and phase plug, with contoured moulded polypropylene cone.

To reproduce bass cleanly and powerfully, it is loaded with a port flared at both ends, which reduces turbulence and distortion. The crossover is centred on 3kHz and incorporates film capacitors in critical locations.



The bi-wirable input panel is made from solid anodised aluminium alloy, with sturdy high-spec terminals suited for spade lug or other types of plugs. High-grade metal links join the terminals together and can be removed for separate connection to each driver.

The front and rear baffles of the cabinet are 25mm (1 in.) thick to reduce unwanted vibration and coloration. In a choice of three pattern matched real wood veneers, the M5i will be equally at home in a traditional or contemporary setting. With its stylish silk cloth grille it integrates easily with home furnishings.

 

Tweeter


Epos 25mm aluminium dome with high-temperature voice coil, Ferrofluid cooling and ferrite magnet system. Magnetically shielded.

 

Mid-bass


 

The Epos Mi 165mm with polymer cone, 32mm high-temperature voice coil and injection moulded phase plug mounted on a die-cast chassis with phase plug. Magnetically shielded.

 

Crossover


 

Bass driver crosses over with three components in a 2nd order filter. Tweeter has four components in a 3rd order filter at 3 kHz crossover, using film-caps and a metal oxide resistor

 

Terminal Panel: Bi-wirable. Can be single or double wired by removing shorting links provided.
