This has to be the best level we have used. Suitable to setup any turntable. This 2 part level is also supplied with an optional 45 rpm adaptor and spindle hole for accurate levelling. The total weight is 180 grams so it will not alter the suspension on suspended sub-chassis designs.

This is a critical first stage in setting up any turntable, whether it’s a budget deck or high end.

A turntable which is not level will never give its best performance. Even having the platter slightly off level could cause slight speed variations, which will dramatically affect the wow and flutter causing instruments and notes to waver and smear imaging.

Your cartridge will not run centrally in the groove producing channel imbalance, loss of detail and potentially damage your records together with your stylus. To ensure the deck is level you need to use a bubble level, however, don’t go to your tool shed and use the level your builder left behind after his last job. DIY style levels are too heavy and their weight will throw off the alignment of your turntable. Using the Avid will ensure that your deck is not only perfectly horizontal, but that the suspension rebounds evenly in both horizontal and vertical planes.
