Many of today's Blu Ray and DVD players, satellite/cable boxes, and video game consoles come with a detachable AC power cable. That's a useful feature because it gives you the flexibility to upgrade to a higher-quality cable. It may surprise you, but simply replacing your component's cheap stock power cable with AudioQuest's NRG-1 low-distortion AC power cable can noticeably improve your system's picture and sound quality.

 

 

The AC power that feeds your gear is really the foundation of your system's audio and video performance. Even if you've plugged your components into a power conditioner to clean up the current coming out of your wall, a flimsy stock power cable can act as an antenna for airborne interference that subtly degrades high-resolution audio and video signals.

Advanced materials and construction for lower distortion
The NRG-1 uses four solid conductors made of high-purity long-grain copper. Solid conductors eliminate interaction between wire strands, which is a major source of distortion in an AC power cable. Every NRG-1 cable features a barrel-shaped RF stopper that filters RFI (radio frequency interference) in both directions. It keeps outside interference from entering your equipment, while also preventing noise generated by your digital equipment from affecting other components in your system.

The NRG-1 works with most components that have a detachable, two-pole "Figure of 8" power cable. That includes many DVD players and Blu-ray players, most cable and satellite set-top boxes, a few audio receivers, and all PlayStation® and Xbox™ game consoles.
