Arcam rCube iPod Speaker System Available in black or white Arcam is the latest top-end British hi-fi maker to start a dalliance with the forces of the iPod, iPad and iPhone by producing a one-box music system to complement Apple's handheld devices.
The nifty and versatile rCube combines Arcam’s hi-fi heritage with an extremely compact and convenient standalone iPod system. As the name implies, it's a cool curvaceous cube shape with a flip-up lid revealing not only an iPod dock, but also a carrying handle. Yep, this baby’s portable, with 4 hours of listening pleasure from the internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
You can also stream music wirelessly from a computer (Kleer streaming dongle sold separately). This would allow you to play some of your favourite tunes e.g. from the PC in your study to the rCube that was outside on your patio table. Having a party? With the wireless dongle in place, you could even daisy chain several rCubes together around the house, with each playing the same music. The slickest touch of all - you can control the music being streamed via your iPhone! The rCube is no slouch in the audio reproduction stakes either, with 2x 50W Class D amplification onboard using opposed woofers plus a tweeter for each channel for the best sound quality. It's compatible with a host of iPods (see below) as well as the new iPhone.
Using separately available adaptors, the rCube also supports wireless streaming from iPods (using theArcam rWand adaptor) or from computers (using the Arcam rWave USB adaptor)
