Nitty Gritty was established by audiophiles in 1981, with the sole purpose of providing professional record cleaning products at affordable prices, worldwide. The Nitty Gritty record cleaners are compact, attractive, efficient, and built for endurance. With their exclusive “non-recontaminating” design, the system leaves records thoroughly clean, often sounding better than when they were new. All units incorporate a powerful vacuum motor, and three of the models are enhanced with a drive motor for automatic disc rotation. The Nitty Gritty system, with a minimum of moving parts and sheer simplicity of function, provides a remarkably quick, richly rewarding record cleaning (and listening!) experience...with no recontamination of your freshly-cleaned, static-free grooves!
Everyone who owns records must know by now that records need to be maintained in a clean condition in order to sound their best and to preserve the quality of their fragile surfaces. There are all sorts of pads and fluids for this purpose out there and they operate on a number of different theories and principles, but they all have one thing in common: unless they use a vacuum system to suck up the solutions they use, they do NOT totally clean all the pollutants from record grooves. They leave film, grease, residue, micro dust, static electricity, carbon fiber hair, and mold release compounds behind. These remaining pollutants prevent the record owner from hearing all the music on the record, regardless of the quality of the playback system! And they cause premature wear of the record and phono stylus.
Records cleaned on a Nitty Gritty system reproduce all the music stored in their grooves without the interference and masking of record pollutants.
