Lehmann Audio Linear Headphone Amplifier

  • Available in silver or black

The Lehmann Audio Linear is a headphone amplifier and single source preamp with a built in power supply and zero global feedback Class-A output stage, offering a wonderfully rich sound suitable for most types of headphones. It features two parallel headphone outputs allowing you to use it with two pairs of headphones and also an additional line output. Gain is switchable underneath (between 0dB/10dB/20dB) allowing you to match it accurately to the headphones in use.

Winner of awards and numerous excellent reviews, the Linear is a superb sounding and flexible headphone amp that will suit many headphones.

'The initial reaction I had when I first listened to music with this amp using my HD-650s was “Wow!” I was – and continue to be – quite impressed with this solid state amp...you must absolutely listen to this amp, even if you are prepared to spend more than that...'

Head-Fi

' Creamy-smooth with headphones...almost tube-like, without the euphonic coloration that some tube designs inflict...Its lows were very powerful and detailed, while the smooth highs were limited only by the headphones I was using'

Superb sound, well made & makes my headphones sing

This is a giant leap up from my Graham Slee SRG (inc PSU1 upgrade)

The sound is more open, detailed, cleaner, and the bass is in a different league - deeper, punchier and easier to follow than the Slee, which I always found a bit soft and wooly.

Very highly recommended.

Good value.

A beautifully built and very analytical, neutral, detailed amp not on the warm side at all. Some may want and more lifelike sound as this amp at present sounds slightly on the electronic side of things. A bit tricky to set up and to get the best out of using a good mains cable and interconnect. This amp will reveal poor sources or recordings. Recommended with reservations.

I love everything about it, the workmanship, the styling and the sound, just brilliant. Like any great audio gear it has plenty of insight and detail while sounding relaxed and easy to listen to. It does it's job very well. Very highly recommended.

I can also recommend Analogue Seduction, great dealer, sent my amplifier quickly and very well packaged. Thank you.

Great

I bought this Lehmann Audio Linear Headphone Amplifier to replace a Musical Fidelity V90 hpa feeding Shure SRH1840 headphones. The headphone amplifier is fed from the fixed output of a Cyrus Signature DAC XP which takes its source from a Cyrus Signature Stream X. I was always very happy with the sound quality of the V90 hpa, and it has a good reputation, but I wanted to use it elsewhere so I looked round for a replacement. This slightly used Lehman filled the bill nicely in terms of reputation and of price.

I have used the Lehmann for a couple of weeks now on a very wide range of material, mainly classical but some popular contemporary music, and compared it extensively with the V90. My first impression was that the Lehman was jaw-droppingly good on the tracks which I use for test purposes, and in fact I put thoughts of comparisons to one side and immediately listened to a large number of high quality tracks for the sheer pleasure of it. After the euphoria slightly wore off I got down to serious comparisons with the V90 and with a wider range of source quality. The Lehman always sounded better than the V90, but on lower quality source material the differences are not startling. With high quality source material the extra detail, spaciousness , delicacy and sheer realism are very marked indeed and lead to a quite wonderful feeling of being actually in the performance venue. In addition, on heavyweight material the sound is considerably more solid than with the V90. All in all it is a very worthwhile upgrade, especially as it is very well made and has a beautifully silky volume control.

Finally, Analogue Seduction’s ‘click and collect’ service worked perfectly.

Superb headphone amplifier

Performs exactly like a high-end amplifier should. It has all the attributes you'd expect - transparency, dynamics, deep bass plus an excellent s/n ratio. Very involving without any trace of listener fatigue. A perfect partner to my Manley Steelhead pre. Truly a great performer.
