Graham Slee Audio Interconnect: Cusat 50

The Cusat50 is the signal cable we use in the research and development listening tests of our phono stage and headphone amplifier products. So if these products work as well as the reviews make out, just think how much better they'll sound using these Interconnects?

The copper losses are extremely small which supports bass "hold-up" and therefore they fully allow the essential foundation of the music to be transmitted with commanding authority - far greater than thin wire or thin foil Interconnects.

Memory effect causes blurring and confusion, and is caused by dielectric absorption. The "honeycomb" construction using polyethylene as the dielectric over a thick single core polished conductor reduces the "drag" due to micro-current flow in adjacent insulation taking the dielectric absorption as low as an insulated cable can go. Micro-current flow in insulation is a common characteristic that all cables have to some degree, and if you don't believe that, please research the national grid and why power cables don't overheat.

Part one of the screen is partial braiding around the outside of the polyethylene dielectric which makes minimal contact, further reducing dielectric absorption. Part two of the screen is an overlapping copper foil which reinforces the braided screen conductivity to equal the core. Together, they effectively screen out virtually all sources of interference.

Lay-up is in the direction the wire was drawn into its associated strands indicated by a chevron decal as well as the direction of any visible cable print. We don't yet have an answer as to why a cable used in one direction should sound any different to the opposite direction (diode arguments don't hold water with alternating currents), but it may be found that these cables sound better connected backwards when used with phase inverting stages.

The capacitance is just 50pf per metre making it a viable proposition for Phono stage to pre-amp Interconnects. The minimal loading presented to outputs such as the Era Gold and Reflex allow an explosion of musicality, and lead to greater definition and integration with our Gram Amp range.

Cusat 50

Bought a pair of these to connect my old Beolabs 8000s with a new B&W Formation Audio. The step up in quality with these cables compared to how I had been using my speakers is incredible as I had been running a cable to a hi res Astel &Kern player but there was an immediate noticeable difference when used with the Slee cable. The cables are expertly made and finish is great.

Excellent interconnect
18 December 2019  |

I chose this interconnect partly because I also use a Graham Slee Phono preamp. The cable is well constructed, well shielded and the RCA termination plugs make connection to amps easy and secure. Sound quality is not impeded.
Reasonably priced and recommended.

Excellent cable
21 September 2019  |

Used between Graham Slee phono stage and Naim preamp, this is an excellent cable. Very well constructed with locking connectors. The cable is a little stiffer than expected. Sound excellent right out of the box. I am very satisfied with the results and i recommend this cable.

Very nicely constructed

Very nicely constructed interconnect - feel very well made - with great shielding to keep errant fields off the vulnerable signal as it travels to the phono stage.

Transparent but be patient
23 March 2016  |

Bought for phono stage to preamp but put it between Krell pre and power to burn in where it replaced my balanced interconnect with network boxes. Sound changed from good to horrible then good to fabulously transparent over a period of one week. It is all about balance, correct perspective and transparecy. Now I will need to buy another for phono to preamp. The £1,000 balanced interconnect will be used elsewhere.

Graham Slee CuSat50 audio interconnect.

I was looking for a quality cable at a reasonable price and with good RF shielding for my phono stage to amplifier.
This one seem to fit all the criteria i was looking for and with such good reviews too.
So i went ahead and ordered them from Analogue seduction, knowing i would receive them well packed and in very short time.
Listening to them straight out of the pack i was very happy with the results.
After two weeks of burn in they are even better. I am hearing bass notes ive not heard in a long time. The whole frequency response is very even and smooth with intricate and subtle detail, and a lovely mid range. They seem to image well too. I can see why Graham Slee uses this cable in their auditioning rooms.
Overall i am very happy with these cables, and for the price, they are extremely well made and very musical. definitely recommended.
