Groove Into Bits Volume 1 CD

Hi-Fi News Album Choice August 2012. Sound quality 95%

When reviewer Ken Kestler says 'do whatever you can to get a copy' of Groove into Bits Vol. 1, you know its going to be something special. I purchased both volumes upon recommendation of friends this is a great recording sounds as close to vinyl as you're going to get of course the music selections may not meet everyone's taste..but they are all enjoyable, excellently recorded and master musicians. I enjoy it I hope you will as well. 😃😃😃😃😃

Analogue Excellence on CD?!
Wednesday, 10 December 2014  |

Sceptical I may have been at transcribing LP recordings to the digital cd format but any niggling doubts were soon dispelled during the listening to this truly excellent and thoroughly enjoyable compilation with first rate sonics. You can hear the odd pop/click on a couple of tracks only and the very subdued background noise of the stylus/ groove interface proves that well cared for LP's can play back very quietly. A superlative effort from all concerned in this project and this CD does NOT sound digital. Highly recommended.

Groove Into Bits vol 1
Sunday, 4 May 2014  |

I would like to tell a little story by way of reviewing this CD. About 1970 I went into a Hi Fi shop and the salesman (Known as Ralph The Rogue) played "Its Good News Week" on a basic Phillips system. This blew me away as untinl then I had listened to music over a mantle radio and a portable 7 transistor radio. The first track on this CD had much the same effect on me! It was outstanding in it's clarity and seperation of the various elements. The rest of the CD did not dissapoint either BUT track 1 had me totally entranced.

What CDs should all sound like
Friday, 27 December 2013  |

After reading a review in a HI-Fi magazine I took a chance and bought Volumes 1 and 2 together. I didn't realise that these CDs were mastered from the original LPs and then converting them to digital. Interesting concept and I'm sure I could hear a couple of 'clicks' on one track, but otherwise very quiet backgrounds. Fabulous sound quality and great music. A wide range so not all tracks will be to everyone's taste, but don't worry because if you don't like the one you're listening to, you probably will the next. Great for showcasing just how good your system is, clean, smooth sound with bags of detail and space round each instrument. Huge soundstage with great front to back depth. Recommended, can't wait for Volume 3.
